
The Arico City Council has installed the new lighting in the Villa de Arico Cemetery. The installation has 12 light points, both inside and outside, which improve the lighting and safety of the entire enclosure. They are all solar lights, guaranteeing energy efficiency, savings and thus avoiding the need for internal wiring.
The supply consists of 12 intelligent LED solar lights, with photovoltaic panel, high-capacity battery, with charge controller and LED optical group, with the incorporation of an infrared presence sensor to increase autonomy and with a power of 50 and 30W. . The investment of the Consistory has been 16,049.98 euros. These actions are included in the investments approved in the 2021 Budget.
The mayor of Arico, Sebastián Martín, pointed out the importance of having this new lighting that “guarantees greater security and lighting of the cemetery.” The municipal councilor added that this installation constituted a historical demand of the municipality and, “with this action, we are fulfilling and developing everything foreseen in the Investment Plan”.
Also the Councilor for Works and Services of the City Council of Arico, Juan José Armas, highlighted that “the improvement of lighting, with 12 photovoltaic lamps, of the Villa de Arico cemetery was one of the pending issues for this mandate”. The councilman also insisted on the importance of this initiative for the government team, “because the ariqueros demanded this action to leave the cemetery in the best conditions.”
The Councilor for the Environment, Andrés Martínez, pointed out that “with this work one of the neighbours’ demands is executed, one more improvement of the cemetery, and we fulfill one of the objectives of sustainable development with the energy saving of all the lighting of the cemetery”.
Similarly, the councilor for the Treasury, Víctor García, stressed that the installation of the aforementioned 12 solar lights was included in the Investment Plan, “which will increase visibility and a sense of security in the Villa de Arico cemetery.” In addition, he added that thanks to the approval of the 2021 Budget and the investment plan, funds can be used for purposes like this.
