Ruth Acosta, up to now counselor from Yes We Can Canary Islands at Council of Tenerife, resigns from his position in the corporation. Acosta values that “it is a very thoughtful decision, the circumstances currently make it impossible for me to contribute to the group with the energy and enthusiasm that is due, so I have preferred to take a step so that my party partner, Moises Lubary, continue the work on Council of Tenerife”. The counselor has registered her resignation this Monday before the secretary of the Cabildo de Tenerife.

Acosta, who is a representative of the Sí se puede party within the insular political group, appreciates the trust of the people who have accompanied and valued her since her beginnings in politics in 2011. She leaves her position in the Cabildo after having promoted various environmental initiatives, the field where its contribution has stood out the most, in rural and agricultural development or in relation to energy transition and historical heritage.

Acosta will continue his activism from the citizen movements, to which he has dedicated the last 25 years. She will carry out her work as a councilor in the Tenerife Cabildo until the next ordinary plenary session, which is held this Friday 28. In it, she will give an account of her resignation and then make the withdrawal effective, in order to make way for Lubary in the following ordinary session. He has a degree in Geography from the University of La Laguna. He has completed studies in the degree of Legal Sciences and Public Administration of the UNED, intermediate technician in Occupational Risk Prevention and superior technician in Metallic Constructions. He has developed his working life in the field of occupational risk prevention in private companies and in the third sector. A member of Sí se puede since 2009, Lubary was Coordinator of Grupo Podemos in the Cabildo de Tenerife in the 2015-2019 mandate and, between 2019 and 2021, temporary staff in the Puerto de la Cruz City Council.
