The resurfacing of Lomo la Fuente begins the investment plan for the local road network

The resurfacing of Lomo la Fuente street, in La Cisnera, represents the beginning of the actions in the municipal road contemplated in the Arico Investment Plan. The work consisted of the milling and rehabilitation of the entire road, as well as the construction of a retaining wall on one of the margins, valued as necessary to secure the entire road. The investment amounted to 42,666 euros.

The works included the cleaning and clearing of the land, removal of vegetation from the margins and surface cleaning of the layout. All this, before proceeding to milling the pavement, removing the areas of the damaged surface and replacing the covers of the essential services. The work ended with the resurfacing.

The mayor, Sebastián Martín, stressed that this project “solves access to a part of the La Cisnera neighborhood” and is the answer to a need for this in the municipality. Likewise, he highlighted the fact that with the execution of this action “a set of works contracted at the end of last year begin” and that they will be completed in the coming months.

The Councilor for Works and Services, Juan José Armas, explained that “this work represents an important improvement for all the residents of the area and is another step in the actions that we have planned for the following weeks.” In keeping with what the mayor expressed, he recalled that Lomo la Fuente street is located in the La Cisnera neighborhood, one of the most populous midtown centers “to which this investment responds to one of its main demands».

Víctor García, Councilor for Economy and Finance, stressed that this is “the first action of this type that is processed within the Investment Plan” and that “it involves a total renovation of the road.” García alluded to the approval of the municipal budgets during 2021 and the good economic health of the City Council as the main reasons “that have allowed us to start tackling works that had not been able to be carried out until now.”

It should be remembered that the last approved budget amounts to 8,554,174, while the Investment Plan adds up to 12,053,694 euros of multi-year investments. A part of them is destined to the integral improvement of the roads of the municipality of Arico. Resurfacing with 2,787,741 euros.
