A new ‘narcolancha’ arrives with 1,640 kilos of hashish in Tenerife

The Civil Guard arrested three individuals of Moroccan nationality as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health and seized 1,628 kilos of hashish in a boat that was sailing off the coast of the municipality of El Rosario, in the metropolitan area of Tenerife.

During a night patrol the Tenerife Maritime Service of the Armed Institute, the agents received a communication from the service operations center (COS), by a possible suspicious vessel, which has been detected through the comprehensive external surveillance system (SIVE) near the coast of Boca Cangrejo and Playa La Nea, sailing without lights and at a speed of about seven knots.

Agents of the Civil Guard, aboard a semi-rigid boat, go to the place to locate the pneumatic, observing one that coincided with the description, without being able to detect anyone inside with the naked eye.

Once the agents approach the aforementioned boat, they verify that there were three people inside it, so the agents proceed to quickly board the boat in order to prevent them from getting rid of the bundles that are in the same, as well as satellite mobile phones, GPS, laptops or fuel drums, among other material.

The Civil Guard agents proceeded to arrest the individuals who were on the boat and requested support for the transfer to the port of both the boat and material, as well as the detainees, who are of North African origin.

Fifty bales of hashish (1,628 kilograms in total), a Narwhal brand inflatable boat, two outboard motors, several satellite mobile phones, as well as both portable and fixed satellite location systems (GPS) were seized during the intervention. among other materials.

Meanwhile, in a previous similar case, the Civil Guard, in a joint operation with the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency, had already seized another 46 bundles with 1,640 kilos of hashish on the coast of Tenerife on December 31, which resulted in three arrests. Between both operations, 3.2 tons of drugs have been prevented from being distributed in the market. And, above all, this type of practice comes to light to transfer illegal substances to land. For this they must also have a support device from the ground.
