Low visibility due to fog and haze has caused a total of ten flight cancellations this Monday and 16 diversions at Canarian airports, sources from Aena inform Europa Press.
In the case of Tenerife North, the most affected airport, there have been 13 diversions to Tenerife South from Madrid (two), Gran Canaria (two), La Palma and Lanzarote, also with two operations each, plus La Gomera and El Hierro .
In addition, there have been nine cancellations on flights from Madrid, La Gomera, El Hierro, Fuerteventura (2), La Palma (3) and Gran Canaria and deviations of more than two hours on six inter-island flights.
At the Gran Canaria airport a flight between Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura has been cancelled; in Fuerteventura, one was diverted to Gran Canaria from Frankfurt, and in Lanzarote, two other flights were diverted from Leeds and London.
