The Department of Beaches and Pools of the City Council of La Laguna will act in pool II of the Bajamar pools and in the pool of the Arenisco pool (in Punta del Hidalgo) due to the advanced state of deterioration in which they are, this report has reported. Monday the municipal corporation.

The forecast is that the work in the first area, with a budget of 32,115 euros, will begin on February 1 and last until March 15, although everything will depend on the behavior of the tides.

During this period, the construction (the one farthest from the beach) will remain closed, although bathers will be able to continue enjoying the other facilities.

The Councilor for Beaches and Pools, Cristina Ledesma, details that the intention of the area is to reform “in a first phase those vessels of the natural pools that show a greater degree of deterioration, as is the case with the Sandstone, in which we will intervene later and whose investment will be around 40,000 euros”.

In neither of the two, indicates the councilor in a statement, “no type of action has been done since they were built and that has caused fissures, cracks and loss of tiles and paint.”

Cristina Ledesma adds that these reforms will add “ordinary refurbishment and maintenance work in the four bathing areas of the municipality (Bajamar, Punta del Hidalgo, Jóver and La Barranquera) so that, when the high season begins, users can enjoy of quality services and with a careful image”.
