The number of patients admitted to the plant decreases, but the number of critical patients increases

In the hospitals of the Archipelago, 511 patients fight against the coronavirus in Covid plants, which shows a decrease of 18 patients with respect to the previous 24 hours, according to provisional data released this Sunday by the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands. But nevertheless, in the critical areas the pressure has increased with the arrival of four people suffering from the condition. With them, there are already 79 who require medical assistance in an intensive care bed.

The count of new infections has also decreased this day compared to the previous days. In fact, the region has added 2,511 clinical pictures, although during Saturday they were made 7,886 diagnostic tests, 57.3% less than on Friday, which closed with 18,447.

Nevertheless, this Sunday the community lamented ten new deaths linked to Covid-19: seven in Tenerife, two in Gran Canaria and one in Lanzarote. These deaths are pending validation by the General Directorate of Public Health. So far this year, 133 people affected by the pathology have died.

Taking into account the data disaggregated by islands, Tenerife has today registered 687 new SARS-CoV-2 infections; Gran Canaria 1,312; Lancelot 173; Fuerteventura 157; La Palma 156; La Gomera nine; and Iron 17.

Tenerife continues to be the island most affected by the incidence of the virus in this sixth onslaught of the pathogen and has 42,697 positives, which represents 48.1% of the total in the Archipelago (88,663). It is followed by Gran Canaria, with 32,393; Lanzarote, with 6,258; Fuerteventura, with 4,774; La Palma, with 2,078; La Gomera, with 240; and El Hierro, with 222.

Since the last count, 759 epidemiological discharges were issued, so the number of recovered since the start of the crisis amounts to 131,858. It should be remembered that This Monday the system begins to work automated check-in and check-out managed by 45 doctors who are not part of the healthcare field, to alleviate the pressure suffered by Primary Care.

In this way, all patients under 45 years of age with mild or asymptomatic symptoms of coronavirus, and without risk factors, can call the 900-112-061 and apply for temporary disability. Discharge will be received automatically after seven days, unless those affected notify a worsening of their health status.
