Juan Antonio Pérez Gómez took office yesterday as the new president of the Board of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of San Cristóbal de La Laguna (JHC), in the framework of an act held in the Cathedral and presided over by Bishop Bernardo Álvarez, accompanied by the episcopal delegate for the JHC, Norberto Carlos Hernández, as well as the archpriest of La Laguna, Jesús Manuel Gil Aguin. In addition to representations of the brotherhoods and brotherhoods, civil and military authorities, as well as the cultural institutions of the city, as reported yesterday by the JHC in a statement.

The head of the JHC, who faces his second stage -after a few years out of positions on the Board-, will be accompanied by Carmen Lourdes Parrilla, vice president; Antonio Francisco Regalado, secretary; Cristobal Trujillo, treasurer; José Ángel Salas, master of ceremonies; and as vocals he will be accompanied by Nieves Rosa Rodríguez, Verónica Candelaria Amador, Ana Casañas and César David Rodríguez.

Juan Antonio Pérez Gómez is a Doctor of Medicine from the University of La Laguna. His contact with the brotherhoods began at the age of 12, in the Royal, Very Illustrious and Capitular Brotherhood of the Flagellation of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Our Lady of Angustias and Santísimo Cristo de los Remedios, of the Holy Cathedral Church.

He came to the Board of Brotherhoods as vice president in 2003, later being elected president in the periods 2005 to 2007 and 2007 to 2009.

Pérez Gómez stated that one of his goals in this new journey will be the training of the brothers and the charitable social action of the most needy. Finally, he pointed out that for this year, “one of my great objectives will be to return to procession with our headlines through the streets of the city of Aguere, if the sanitary conditions allow it, bearing witness to our faith.”
