Canary Islands to Experience Drop in Maximum Temperatures
This Monday, the Canary Islands are set to see a decrease in maximum temperatures, although some areas of the archipelago may still reach 30 degrees, according to the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
Weather Conditions
The calima that has affected the islands recently is expected to dissipate, giving way to cloudy skies or intervals of clouds, particularly in the northern regions. In contrast, the southern areas will generally enjoy clear skies.
Temperature Forecast
In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, maximum temperatures of 28 degrees and minimums of 23 are anticipated. Meanwhile, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is forecast to see highs of 26 degrees and lows of 22 degrees. In certain areas of Fuerteventura or Gran Canaria, temperatures could reach 30 degrees.
Wind and Sea Conditions
Winds are expected from the northeast, generally moderate, with possible strong gusts, particularly affecting the southeast and northwest slopes. At sea, northeast winds of force 3 to 4 are predicted, which could strengthen to force 5 or 6 in some areas, accompanied by a light to moderate swell that may increase to a strong swell by the end of the day. Additionally, a northern undertow of 1 to 2 metres is expected.
