Santa Cruz de Tenerife has welcomed a new reference point in aesthetic medicine with the opening of the second center of the Doctor Blas García Clinics. This new facility is located in the Plaza de los Patos, within the building that once housed the old Castelo Pharmacy. The launch event took place last Friday at the Hotel Mencey, attended by industry professionals, artists, and institutional representatives.
The clinic is housed in a historic building designed by architect Mariano Estanga. It has been restored with respect for its heritage value and now hosts a project that transcends medicine, offering a comprehensive aesthetic experience.
A Concept Beyond Medicine
Under the medical direction of Dr Nélida García, a specialist in facial aesthetic medicine, this space has become the most advanced facility in the Canary Islands for laser technology applied to non-invasive treatments. Additionally, it operates as a contemporary art museum, featuring works that engage with the modernist architecture of the building. “Every face has a story. Our work is not just about beautifying, but accompanying individuals in their journey of inner transformation,” states Dr García, whose career merges scientific rigor with clinical sensitivity.

Blas García: Surgery with an Artistic Vocation
Dr Blas García, founder of the clinics that bear his name, is regarded as one of the leading international experts in ultrasonic rhinoplasty. His career includes over 3,000 procedures and accolades such as the European Medical Award for Best Surgeon in Rhinoplasty in Europe, received for three consecutive years.
“A good surgeon must possess skill, but also a profound artistic development,” he notes. This philosophy is echoed throughout the centre, where aesthetics extend beyond medical outcomes to the environment and patient experience.
Trained at the University of Córdoba and with experience in the United States, Mexico, and Brazil, Dr García introduced the technique of ultrasonic rhinoplasty to Spain in 2016, revolutionising nasal surgery with a less invasive and more precise approach.
Technology, Art, and Heritage
The building housing the clinic has been restored to preserve its original elements. This architectural recovery transforms the centre into a place where history meets the avant-garde.
Contemporary art is not merely a decorative addition but an integral part of the project. The works displayed in waiting areas and common spaces have been selected to cultivate an atmosphere of contemplation, beauty, and serenity.
Cutting-Edge Aesthetic Medicine
The centre offers personalised treatments such as mesotherapy, neurotoxins for wrinkles, facial fillers, platelet-rich plasma, and chemical peels, all performed with state-of-the-art equipment. The facilities are equipped for minor outpatient surgery, ensuring safety and comfort.
The incorporation of the latest laser technology allows for procedures such as facial rejuvenation, stain removal, vascularisation, medical hair removal, and skin remodelling with maximum precision.
A Transformative Experience
From the first consultation, patients are welcomed with warmth and professionalism. The medical team thoroughly analyses each case, proposing solutions that respect individual identities and desires.
“We seek natural results but also aim to assist in the inner rebirth of our patients following their exterior transformation,” Dr García explains.
The opening of this second centre marks a milestone in aesthetic medicine in the Canary Islands. It is a space where the most advanced technology serves human sensitivity, where historical architecture provides a backdrop for transformation, and where art accompanies every step of the process.
In Dr García’s own words: “Beauty is not a destination; it is a journey. And this centre is an invitation to traverse it with respect, art, and science.”
