Heat Alerts Across the Islands
These incidents coincide with a warning regarding maximum temperatures in Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, and Tenerife, while La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro remain on pre-alert status. Additionally, all islands are under alert due to dust from the Sahara.
Forecasts indicate that maximum temperatures could reach between 34 and 37 ºC on Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife, while La Gomera, La Palma, and El Hierro may see temperatures between 30 and 34 ºC. Minimum temperatures are not expected to drop below 24 ºC in large areas of Gran Canaria and Tenerife, with occasional similar conditions in other islands.
Furthermore, there is a very high risk of solar ultraviolet radiation, expected to remain active across the archipelago from 18th to 22nd September.
