Firefighters Rescue Child Trapped in Vehicle in San Isidro
Emergency Response in Tenerife
Firefighters from Tenerife, based in San Miguel, assisted a child who had become trapped in a vehicle in San Isidro this past Sunday after the doors closed accidentally. The situation came to light through a call from the Local Police to the Tenerife Emergency Coordination Centre at around 10:35 am.
After assessing the situation to ensure the operation could be conducted safely, the firefighters broke a window of the vehicle, successfully freeing the child without any incidents.
Other Incidents
According to communications from the Tenerife firefighters, a number of additional operations were carried out. In the early hours of Saturday, firefighters and volunteers from Guía de Isora intervened in Chío to extinguish a fire that had broken out in a vehicle and a nearby palm tree, with assistance from the Local Police.
In another incident, personnel based in San Miguel de Abona responded on Friday to a fire in a hotel room in Las Américas, which had already been extinguished by the hotel staff. Both incidents also involved local police officers, while the hotel incident included the National Police and personnel from the Canary Emergency Services.
Additionally, the Guía de Isora firefighters were called out on Friday at 08:40 am to a traffic accident on the Ctra. Piedra Hincada – Tejina, where no injuries were reported. They disconnected the vehicle’s battery to mitigate risks. In Las Américas, at 05:45 am on Friday, firefighters from San Miguel and volunteers from Adeje responded to a car fire in an open area, with the National Police also present.
