Arona celebrates the festivities in honor of San Antonio Abad this weekend only with religious acts. The mayor, José Julián Mena, announced yesterday the postponement of the popular programs scheduled from Friday to next Monday, due to the health situation in which he is due to the high incidence of the pandemic.
The celebration of popular acts is, therefore, awaiting the decision adopted by the Government of the Canary Islands on the 24th, the date on which it will review the alert levels. In the event that the situation in Tenerife improves and drops in level, the popular events would take place on the 28th, 29th and 30th of this month.
For its part, the religious acts planned for this weekend will take place with reduced capacity and with the necessary health prevention measures, as well as the raising of the flag at the Cross of San Antonio, which will take place this Friday.
