Tenerife Cabildo Allocates Funding for Municipal Art Spaces
This year, the Cabildo of Tenerife, through the Department of Culture, Museums, and Sports, is allocating a total of €385,391 to municipal exhibition spaces across the island, as announced by the regional councillor José Carlos Acha.
New Grant for Municipal Art Spaces
Acha emphasised that “this is the first time the Cabildo of Tenerife has created a specific grant to improve the facilities of municipal art spaces. This initiative will assist local councils in enhancing the quality of exhibitions and increasing the visibility of artists within the municipalities benefiting from these funds.”
Cultural Importance
Acha highlighted that “culture is a strategic pillar for Tenerife, both economically and in terms of identity.” He further stated, “We are striving to ensure that all municipalities, without exception, have access to a diverse, quality cultural offering, committing to the democratisation of culture across the island.”
Beneficiary Exhibition Spaces
A total of thirteen exhibition spaces across the island submitted their applications within the established deadline and have been awarded this new funding from the Cabildo. The facilities benefiting from this initiative are as follows:
– Sebastián Pérez Enríquez Art Gallery in Los Silos
– Hall of the Old Town Hall in Fasnia
– Casa Prebendado Pacheco Exhibition Hall in Tegueste
– Cultural Space of the Old Town Hall in Candelaria, Villa Mariana
– Carlos E. Alonso House of Culture Exhibition Hall in La Esperanza (El Rosario)
– Exhibition Hall of El Sauzal
– Casa Don Miguel in La Matanza de Acentejo
– Cultural Space La Casona in Santa Úrsula
– Anchieta House Exhibition Hall in La Laguna
– San Felipe Cultural Space in Puerto de la Cruz
– Casa de la Castaña and the Pottery of La Victoria de Acentejo
– House of Culture Exhibition Hall in Los Realejos
– Exhibition Spaces managed by the Autonomous Organisation of Culture of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
