Tragic Death During Mountain Race in Tenerife
A man has died this Saturday following a cardiac arrest while participating in a mountain race in northern Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 112 of the Canary Islands Government.
Incident Details
The fatality occurred during the Carrera del Risco, a mountain event organised by the Buenavista del Norte Town Hall. This race involves a timed ascent of 3.7 km, with a positive elevation gain of +700 m leading up to Teno Alto.
Emergency Response
The helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands (GES) was deployed to assist with the rescue of the affected individual.
