PSOE and CC in La Laguna Strengthen Government Pact Stability and Outline Two-Year Roadmap

The two parties held a meeting of the monitoring committee for the agreement signed in December 2023, highlighting the atmosphere of understanding, progress in services to citizens, and the community’s support for a people-centred management model.

Political Stability and Local Development

The PSOE and Coalición Canaria in La Laguna convened the monitoring committee for the government pact. This meeting assessed the nearly twenty months since the agreement was signed in December 2023 and established the working lines for the next two years of mandate.

Both parties emphasised that the pact has provided political and institutional stability, enabling the advancement of strategic projects for the municipality and effective responses to community demands across a territory comprising 81 towns and neighbourhoods.

Commitment to Collaboration

PSOE spokesperson in La Laguna, Badel Albelo, remarked, “Today we attended the Pact Committee convened by Coalición Canaria with a constructive and collaborative spirit. The PSOE continues to work to address the issues that concern Laguneros the most. It is a solid project, a guarantee of progress and future for our municipality.”

Fran Hernández, General Secretary of Coalición Canaria in La Laguna, noted, “This pact has proven to be a useful tool for tackling the challenges of the municipality, ensuring stability and improving public services. The public recognises that we have moved from confrontation to a period of dialogue and management, which translates into trust and a common project for La Laguna.”

Visible Results of Cooperation

Leaders from both parties stressed that loyal collaboration is yielding visible results, leading to closer services, better-served neighbourhoods, and projects realised with a shared vision. Their commitment is to continue working together to ensure La Laguna progresses, always placing people at the centre.

Both parties reiterated that the continuity of the agreement will allow for deeper advancements in social policies, sustainability, mobility, and economic development, as well as improve the services provided to citizens, solidifying a management model that has the support of local residents.

Looking Ahead

The monitoring committee concluded with a commitment to strengthen political and technical coordination spaces, ensuring that the pact remains a benchmark for stability and progress in the municipality over the next two years.
