CD Tenerife: Manu Guill: “The Squad is Competitive”

The Sporting Director of CD Tenerife states that “the cornerstone was the renewal of the coaching staff.” “We are very happy,” he emphasises, “but we all have our feet on the ground; step by step, enjoying the journey and remaining calm.” Additionally, the club’s Vice President, Ayoze García, highlights gratitude towards the fans: “What we experienced last Saturday at the stadium was incredible, and that unity is very important.”

New Signing Announcement

MANU GUILL

“I welcome Noel López, a forward who can also play on both flanks. He is a player with great speed, which was the type of profile we were searching for. Furthermore, he comes as a permanent signing, and we consider this important.

“Noel López started in the youth academy of RC Deportivo, then moved to Real Madrid and also spent time in the youth setup at CA Osasuna. He is a player who will fit in well with what the manager wants, and we are confident he will continue to grow here, as he is a player with a bright future.”

“Noel López joins for two seasons, with the club holding an option to extend for another two years. Real Madrid has retained a percentage for any potential future sale of the player.”

“The market has been different from what I was used to, as the team’s circumstances dictated that we had to reshape almost everything. We’ve brought in 15 players, a number that is quite uncommon. The coaching staff has been the cornerstone upon which we have built. We’ve also handled transfers that have been financially beneficial for the club and addressed some complex contractual situations. Overall, I am very pleased because we have put together a competitive squad.”

“We were missing a registration and had to make a decision, and that was for Facundo Agüero to remain without registration. We are working to find a solution.”

“The team has started very well, but we must be aware that tougher times will come, and we need to be ready for that. In these first two matches, we have performed well, but we need to take it step by step and keep our feet on the ground.”

Player Updates

“Baba Diocou is a player we have been following, as he fits the profile we were looking for. We sought the best solution for him, which was a loan to Primera Federación. He is an asset we have signed for two seasons; Ayoze García was also very attentive, and I believe that a club like CD Tenerife should carry out these operations.”

“The intention with Maikel Mesa has always been for him to stay. It is true that we received some offers for him that could have been beneficial for him, but he decided to remain, and we appreciate that.”

“Javi Alonso’s recovery is progressing well, but it will take longer than we expected. Once he recovers, he will rejoin the CD Tenerife B dynamic.”

Support from Sponsors and Fans

AYOZE GARCÍA

“I would like to start by thanking Hospiten for their support and collaboration throughout the years as one of our main sponsors for the academy.”

“Today, we present Noel López. He is a young man with a lot of potential, and I am sure he will bring us many joys. Welcome to Tenerife, your new home.”

“I want to thank the fans for the incredible turnout we saw at #TenerifeMérida. Initially, we could not have imagined there would be over 14,000 people at the first league match. Moreover, we have seen a strong connection both on and off the field. It will be a long journey, but the important thing is to maintain this unity, as it will be the way forward.”
