The Tenerife Council, through the Highways area, and the City Council of La Victoria de Acentejo They will build a new roundabout at the main access to the town, specifically at the junction of the TF-217 island road with the access road from the TF-5 motorway. The first vice president and insular councilor of Roads, Enrique Arriaga (Cs), announces that the Cabildo will invest 390,851 euros in this infrastructure that has been designed jointly with the northern town hall to give “agility to one of the main access points to the municipality, while improving the quality and safety of the movement of vehicles and pedestrians passing through this point.”
The insular director of Roads, Tomás Félix García, remember that “this is an area where serious traffic jams occur, so we consider that this action, demanded for a long time, will mean an improvement.” The action that is projected has a circular roundabout 30 meters in diameter exterior with three branches. An average of 3,530 vehicles circulate on this road every day.
It is an infrastructure similar to those that the Tenerife Council will be built throughout this year, and in collaboration with different town councils in the region, to increase the safety and capacity of the TF-217 island road.
Another roundabout in Santa Úrsula
Last December, the Governing Council of the Cabildo de Tenerife approved the signing of an agreement with the Santa Úrsula City Council for the construction of another roundabout on the Cuesta de la Villa that improves the intersection of the TF-217 with the access of the TF-5 in the municipality. The action that will be screened has a circular roundabout with an outer diameter of 30 meters with three branches. The budget for this intersection is almost 600,000 euros, of which the Cabildo de Tenerife will contribute 75% and the rest the City Council of Santa Úrsula.
