Tragic Accident in Icod de los Vinos
A 50-year-old cyclist has died following a collision with a vehicle on the Ctra. del Amparo in the municipality of Icod de los Vinos, as reported by 1-1-2 Canarias.
Incident Details
The incident occurred around 18:30 hours when the Emergency Coordination Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert indicating that a cyclist required medical assistance after colliding with a car.
Response and Transport
Upon arrival at the scene, SUC personnel assessed the victim, who sustained severe injuries, and proceeded to transport him to the Hospital del Norte.
Cardiac Arrest
However, during the journey, the victim suffered a cardiac arrest. Despite advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts performed by ambulance staff, he succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the hospital.
Traffic Regulation
The Local Police managed traffic on the road while the Civil Guard undertook the necessary legal proceedings.
