Firefighters rescue a woman after she falls in a hard-to-reach area in Tenerife during the early hours.

A 45-year-old woman has sustained moderate injuries after suffering a fall this Friday in an area of difficult access in Tenerife. She was rescued by the Tenerife Consortium Firefighters and evacuated by a GES helicopter.

The incident occurred at 3:34 AM on Roque Bermejo beach, in the municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, when the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Canary Government received an alert stating that a woman had fallen and required medical assistance.

The Firefighters accessed the location where the injured woman was and provided her with first aid. Considering the area she was in and the lack of light for a safe rescue, her evacuation was postponed until the following morning, and the Coordinating Centre was requested to deploy an aerial resource.

With the light of day, the Firefighters, who stayed with the victim throughout the night, transferred her on a stretcher to a safe area.

Rescuers from the GES helicopter and Firefighters transported the victim to the aircraft, which landed in the area and evacuated her to the helicopter landing site at the Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Once on land, SUC staff attended to the victim, who initially presented with moderate trauma to a lower limb, barring complications, and was transported via basic life support ambulance to the University Hospital of Our Lady of Candelaria.

Port Police set up the helipad for the facility and ensured the landing and take-off operations of the rescue helicopter were safe.
