The municipality of Santiago del Teide will host during the month of March, specifically, on the 25, 26 and 27 of that month, the prestigious NUDO video poetry festival that has been taking place in Catalonia since 2017.
Therefore, in this year 2022 will be the first year that the NUDO Festival is held on the island of Tenerife, specifically in Santiago del Teide and it will be organized by RAYOS Y CENTELLAS, Gestión Cultural in collaboration with the Santiago del Teide City Council.
Video poetry is a new genre within video art that has convulsed the poetic scene and enriched the meanings of poetry itself. This new method of social communication or way of telling a story is being reinvented daily. It is a festival that has established itself in the national panorama of festivals dedicated to poetry. Its programming is completed with scenic poetry proposals, workshops, visual poetry exhibitions and videopoetry projections.
Until 12:00 hours on February 6, the call for this festival will be open for which there are two modalities: One general mode open to creators from all over the world, without any restrictions and a modality Canarian field which will be open to creators born or resident in the Canary Islands.
To participate in this festival, only video poems will be accepted, understanding this as an audiovisual work in which there is a poem (recited-written-suggested) and moving images. The use of music or other sound elements is optional. In conclusion, an artistic work based on the integrated creation of moving image, sound and verbal language is sought.
The award of the call consists of the selection of the most outstanding videopoems presented for public screening within the Videopoetry Show as part of the NUDO TENERIFE festival program.
