Agents of the National Police, in collaboration with the Local Police of Adeje, have dismantled several drug dealing points in leisure areas of southern Tenerife in recent months.
Police operations have been ongoing since last April at strategic points in the municipalities of Adeje and Arona, with particular focus on Fañabé, Avenida España, and the Verónicas area, detail sources from the provincial police station.
The more than 50 individuals investigated pretended to be street vendors and hid the drugs in urban furniture with the intention of evading police searches.
A total of 29 doses of crack, 22 doses of MDMA, 38 doses of cocaine, 10 doses of ketamine, 56 ecstasy tablets, 18 wraps of hashish, and 114 single doses of marijuana have been seized.
The alleged individuals involved, a total of 55 men aged between 25 and 40, have previous convictions for drug trafficking-related offences and pretended to be street vendors of glasses, watches, or souvenirs.
The investigated individuals primarily targeted young tourists, especially of British nationality, taking advantage of the nightlife and beach areas, specify the sources.
