The Extraordinary Draw of the Children’s Lottery left a trail of pinches for Tenerife and, in general, for the Canary Islands thanks to loose tenths. El Segundo (44,469; 750,000 per series and 75,000 for each banknote) was widely distributed throughout the island –and throughout the rest of the Spanish geography– and also visited La Palma, in Breña Baja. On the other hand, the first (41665, endowed with two million euros for the series and 200,000 for the tenth) fell in full in Logroño and, with it, the rest of the country also got honey on its lips.

Up to 21 establishments in the Tenerife province distributed the lot for that number, among them Repsol Chasnera, the gas station at kilometer 54 of the South highway, in Granadilla de Abona, which sold four tenths and the point of sale of number 23 of the Mayor avenue Mandillo Tejera, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. In both there was the peculiarity that the third prize also fell there (19,467; 250,000 euros per series and 25,000 per number).

The manager of the southern service station, José González, was “very happy” to have returned to distribute the award. “We have worked a lot this year,” he explained, before specifying that they sold more than in 2020, a year marked by the worst moments and greater restrictions of the pandemic, and less than in 2018 and 2019, when this supplier reached its top sales .

The rest of the premises in which the second prize was distributed were those located in the general highway of the North, 334 (Tacoronte), the Núñez de la Peña street, 65 (La Laguna), the Rambla de Pulido, 73 (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), the general highway Icod El Alto, 107 (Los Realejos), the Siam Mall Shopping Center (Adeje), the La Villa Shopping Center (La Orotava), the Cristóbal Colón avenue, 13 (Güímar), the Canary Islands avenue, 116 (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), block 7 of the Princesa Yballa Urbanization (La Laguna), Santa Cruz avenue, 132 (San Isidro) and Hipólito Sinforiano avenue, 23, in the municipality of La Guancha.

In addition to the above are the businesses on the highway of La Hidalga, 55 (Arafo), Calle Tolerancia, 2 (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), Calle Mencey, 19, in Charco del Pino (Granadilla), Plaza Doctor Olivera, 7 (La Laguna), Avenida Príncipes de España, 27 (El Tanque), Avenida República de Venezuela, 96, in the El Coromoto neighborhood (La Laguna) and the Viña del Mar Shopping Center (Adeje). The list is completed by the establishment located at 16 Calle San Antonio, in the Palmero municipality of Breña Baja.

The third, with the 19 ‘volcanic’

As for the third prize, and in the case of Tenerife, it was sold in the Santa Cruz street Álvaro Rodríguez López, 14. It distributed ten and, therefore, 250,000 euros, and it so happens that it includes the 19th, the start date of the eruption on La Palma.

Also, as previously indicated, luck reached Alcalde Mandillo Tejera avenue and Repsol Chasnera, which in this case gave a tenth. Their manager expressed this Thursday that in recent years they are visited by people from all over Spain and that they also send parcel shipments. Asked about surprising orders, he pointed out that multinational companies are betting on them, and gave the example of one that bought more than 800 tenths for its delegations.

It should be noted that the sales of the Child Draw increased by 2.36% compared to 2021, according to provisional data from State Lotteries and Betting, which estimated the turnover of this year at 742,152,100 euros, Efe published after a statement from the responsible entity. With these figures, the pre-pandemic normality is recovered after last year sales fell by 1.03% compared to 2020, reaching 725,040,440 euros.

State Lotteries and Betting pointed out that the national average of spending per inhabitant has stood at 15.66 euros, as well as that the Children’s draw ends the Christmas holidays by distributing 700 million euros, the same amount that is planned for prizes in 2020.
