A professional wrestler from Desokupa beats a man to death in Tenerife and takes his body to the police station.

Moisés Baute, a professional kickboxing fighter, and another individual, a nightclub bouncer named Jonathan Martín, allegedly carried out a fatal beating on another man in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Wednesday night. They then loaded his corpse into a car and took it to a National Police station.

According to the newspaper El Día, which broke the news, both Baute and Martín turned themselves in to the authorities. Another person, who was also a victim of the beating, remains hospitalised.

El Día states that the victim, a local man known as Albertito, was acquainted with his attackers and that the incident may be linked to a settling of scores over drug-related issues. In fact, the girlfriend of the murdered man had reported him missing and informed the police that he was supposed to meet Baute, but he had not responded to her calls since then.

Baute, who has an extensive criminal record, is also a member of Desokupa Ahora, a group that offers to evict people from properties. However, he is better known for his career as a heavyweight kickboxer. He was a world champion in Enfusion and the ISKA, and has numerous international victories in tournaments such as SUPERKOMBAT and ONE Championship, where he established himself as one of the leading Spanish figures in the circuit.

Sentenced to two and a half years in prison

In 2023, Baute was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for coercing businessman Víctor Estévez in a room at the Real Casino of Tenerife in November 2019, urging him to withdraw a lawsuit regarding a debt from property transactions.

In another case, he was also found guilty of a crime of obstruction of justice for attempting to persuade a crime victim to withdraw a financial claim of over one million euros against the accused, a businessman.

Moreover, the charges included the aggravating factor of an abuse of superiority, given the evident differences in preparation and physical stature between the three assailants and the victim.
