Officials from the Operations Unit of Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency in Tenerife, in a joint operation with agents from the Civil Guard belonging to the Fiscal and Border Section at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, as part of the tax inspection points being conducted at the dock upon the arrival of maritime line vessels, arrested a woman as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking offence.
During the operation, the accused was identified while driving a large car that raised suspicions among the agents due to the evident overloading of the vehicle, as well as her nervous behaviour during the interview conducted by the agents.

Moreover, a strong smell of cannabis emanated from the interior of the vehicle, which led the agents to conduct a thorough inspection of the inside of the car. They found a total of 300 kg of the narcotic substance hidden in the boot and under the seats, which, after performing the appropriate test, tested positive for hashish.
The arrested individual, along with the seized substance and the proceedings carried out, was placed at the disposal of the Courts of Instruction No 5 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where the judicial authority ordered provisional imprisonment for the accused.
