Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar walk the streets of every corner of Arico

Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar walked yesterday many of the streets of the towns of Arico, the second largest municipality in Tenerife. Neither the distance, nor the dispersion of the population nor the covid-19 prevented the little ariqueros from living with enthusiasm the presence of Their Majesties the Magi of the East during the itinerant parade that began in the Villa de Arico and ended in Las Maretas.

Three minors observe in amazement the passage of the procession.

In the Town Hall, the Three Wise Men received the keys to the municipality from the mayor of Arico, Sebastián Martín, and the councilor for Culture and Festivities, Dácil Cano. It happened at 10:30 in the morning. Half an hour later, their Majesties got into the vehicle in which they traveled Arico greeting the girls and boys. Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar began the journey in the middle of the municipality, moving to El Río, La Cisnera, La Villa de Arico, Chiquerón, Teguedite and La Sabinita. In the afternoon, starting at 4:00 p.m., the delegation traveled to Arico Nuevo, Arico Viejo, Las Eritas, El Bueno, Las Casitas, Icor, Las Eras Altas, Las Eras Bajas, Porís de Abona, La Punta de Abona, Abades, La Listada, La Jaca, Tajao, Las Arenas, La Caleta and Las Maretas. The accounts of the Arico City Council on social networks and a GPS application served as a channel to follow the route in real time.

The itinerant parade designed by the Ariquera Corporation strictly complied with the measures against the pandemic, respecting the use of the mask and the safety distance, as well as avoiding crowds.

The mayor of Arico, Sebastián Martín, thanked the citizens for their collaboration in the development of the parade and explained “the effort that this initiative represents for the administrations of municipalities such as Arico.” He agrees with the Councilor for Culture and Festivities, Dácil Cano, in appreciating the effort to “make the illusion of the children of Arico come true.” The authorities wish that on this Epiphany Day “all the wishes of the smallest of the municipality are fulfilled.”
