The company AENA has announced the approval of the soundproofing of 367 homes affected by noise from operations at the Tenerife South Airport, while another 135 are waiting for the proposed works to be accepted by the residents.
Representatives from Aena, the Ministry for Ecological Transition, the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo of Tenerife, and the municipalities of Arona, Granadilla, and San Miguel have met to follow up on the acoustic insulation plan around Tenerife South and have included another 175 homes that meet the requirements for their insulation needs to be analysed.
The owners of another 139 homes have applied to participate in the plan but are pending the completion of their documentation.
The census of homes and buildings that may require acoustic insulation totals 2,456.
A total of 1,441 applications have been received, 314 more since the last meeting held in 2024, and there are 1,015 properties whose owners have not yet applied.
