AEMET updates the weather forecast in the Canary Islands, island by island

The weather forecast for this Sunday indicates that in the north, below 1,200 to 1,300 metres, there will be predominately cloudy skies with breaks for sunshine at midday and a low chance of light and occasional rain, mainly in the mid-altitudes during the early and late hours.

In the high peaks, it will be clear, and in the rest of the areas, it will be mostly clear with cloudy intervals, particularly in the morning, in the west, according to the AEMET.

Temperatures will experience little change along the coasts and a slight to moderate decrease in the mid-altitudes and peaks; while thermometers will range from a maximum of 28 degrees in Tenerife to a minimum of 16 degrees on the island of El Hierro.

Regarding winds, there will be a moderate trade wind, with strong intervals in the extreme northwest and on the southern slope of the metropolitan area, while there will be breezes along the southwest coasts, and in the central peaks, moderate northwesterly winds will decrease to light from the west.

The AEMET forecast for the province of Las Palmas

The weather forecast in the province of Las Palmas for this Sunday indicates that in the north of Gran Canaria, below 1,200 to 1,300 metres, cloudy skies will prevail with breaks for sunshine at midday and a low chance of light and occasional rain, mainly in the mid-altitudes during the early and late hours. In the rest of the areas, it will be mostly clear or sunny.

As for Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, cloudy skies will prevail during early and late hours, while the rest of the day will be mostly clear, according to AEMET.

Temperatures will experience little change along the coasts and will have a slight decrease in inland areas, particularly in the southern half. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, thermometers will be between 21ºC minimum and 24ºC maximum.

With regard to the wind, there will be a moderate trade wind that will blow strongly with a low chance of very strong gusts on the southeastern and western slopes. Breezes will occur along the southwest coasts.
