Emergency services recovered the lifeless body of a man on Monday near the viewpoint located in the Playa Los Roques area, in the municipality of Los Realejos, Tenerife, as reported by 1-1-2 Canarias.
The incident occurred shortly after 9:10 am, when an alert was received informing of the location of a person who may have died in the area of the viewpoint at the beach.
This is a hard-to-reach area, and the rescue was carried out by firefighters and the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Government of the Canary Islands using a helicopter.
Rescuers from the GES helicopter were lowered from the aircraft and, together with the firefighters, lifted the deceased person into the helicopter and evacuated them to the area near the El Peñón Football Field, where they remained under the custody of the National Police, who are conducting the relevant proceedings.
The Local Police assisted with the other emergency resources at the incident site and established a secure area for the helicopter to land in Puerto de la Cruz.
