The Three Wise Men from the East will visit all the districts of La Laguna today, January 5. For the second consecutive year, Their Majesties will go to the different neighborhoods and towns of the municipality so that girls and boys can live this day with the same enthusiasm as before the pandemic, thanks to decentralized visits, divided into six itineraries with more than 300 transit areas, which will allow to offer the maximum security guarantees.
Today, the magical day will start in the logistics center that Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar have installed in the La Constitución park, where, at 10:00 am, the mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, will give them the key to the city, with which They will be able to access all the homes in the municipality to deliver their gifts. In the afternoon, starting at 4:00 p.m., the royal groups will begin their six routes through the various centers. Specifically, four of the routes will start at 4:00 p.m. -the Taco area (with 66 places of passage), Guamasa (58), La Cuesta (83) the town and surroundings (83) -, and the remaining two -the Northeast Region (58) and Las Mercedes area (34) – will start at 4.30 pm.
The complete tours can be consulted through the social networks of the Department of Festivities and in the posters that have been distributed by the different nuclei.
Likewise, Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will be accompanied during their visits by their pages and various children’s characters. Specifically, the party councilor, Badel Albelo, specified that about 120 people will participate in the six royal groups.
The local councilor recalled that the traditional parade through the helmet was already replaced last year by these visits to the districts, “a formula that was very well accepted and that we wanted to repeat in this edition, because it allows us to comply with prevention measures against the pandemic, the priority for this government team ”. Both the mayor and the mayor of Fiestas call for responsibility so that “all families can live this day in a safe way”, so they recommend that the neighbors enjoy the arrival of the Three Kings from their homes ( windows, balconies, etc.), whenever possible, or keeping a safe distance so that the little ones can greet them and deliver their letters without generating crowds.
On the other hand, the Solidarity Pages have been working these days so that more than 1,200 minors from families who use social services do not miss out on these Kings, in an initiative that has distributed more than 40,000 euros in gift cards and dozens of adapted toys and books.
