Firefighters rescue injured hiker after fall in Montaña Roja, Tenerife

Tenerife firefighters rescued a 49-year-old hiker on Tuesday, who sustained a leg injury after falling in Montaña Roja, in the municipality of Granadilla.

The incident occurred shortly after 12:15 when the Coordinating Centre for Emergency and Security (CECOES) 112 of the Canary Islands Government received an alert reporting that a hiker had fallen and needed rescue and medical assistance.

Members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium reached the affected individual, and after the rescue, evacuated her to where the ambulance could access.

Personnel from the SUC provided initial medical assistance and transferred her to La Candelaria Hospital.
