However, this year, despite receiving thousands of people for two nights, we have enabled a special access control operation that has worked, being a deterrent for many other people who wanted to access when the load capacity was already exceeded, “he added. .
Enjoying the Perseids is an activity that is already being traditional and that can generate many damages in the protection of the territory because thousands of people travel to the National Park in a very short period of hours and their attitude once there, in many cases , is not responsible.
That is why as of this year, and with the experience that has been obtained by putting this operation into practice, the Cabildo “will improve in planning and forecasting the occupation of the territory and will generate awareness in the population so that this activity does not it becomes a chaos with irreversible consequences ”, said the insular councilor.
Due to the results obtained, Isabel García admitted that this operation, carried out with the collaboration of the Civil Guard, groups and associations of volunteers from Civil Protection, Red Cross, area personnel, technicians from the Civil Protection service, Brifor , Cecopin, environmental agents, personnel from the Cabildo National Park and Roads and the local police of the affected municipalities, it can be applied in other circumstances such as the presence of snow in the winter months, which usually also generate an excessive influx of visitors.
