Metrotenerife will apply the summer timetable for the tram service starting this Monday, and it will do so in two phases to adjust the transport offering to the season’s demand. Thus, Line 1 will operate every 6 minutes during peak hours on weekdays, while Line 2 will do so every 12 minutes.
The activation of the summer timetable will only apply from Monday to Friday. During weekends and public holidays, trams will maintain their usual frequencies and schedules, with continuous service throughout the night, according to a statement from the public company.
They explain that the summer timetable is adapted in phases. From 30th June to 6th July, Line 1 will operate every 6 minutes from 07:00 until 15:00 hours, Monday to Friday (weekdays), then with intervals of 7 and 15 minutes until midnight. For Line 2, trams will run every 12 minutes during the same hours, with subsequent frequencies of 14 and 15 minutes.
IN JULY, A NEW READJUSTMENT
As with last year, Metrotenerife will adjust the tram’s transport offering to the demand occurring mid-summer on weekdays. Thus, on Monday 7th July, Line 1 will mainly have a frequency of 7 minutes and Line 2 of 14 minutes. This summer timetable will extend until the beginning of September.
From Monday to Friday, the service will continue to be affected by the strike currently being carried out by the company’s workers. The situation will impact the morning, midday, and evening periods. During strike periods, the operation of the lines will continue with minimum services of 80%.
