Historical data at the Canary Islands airports reveal a thriving tourism sector. Despite being outside the peak season, which runs from November to February, May’s air traffic statistics from Aena suggest the Archipelago is on track to break all sorts of records by 2025. So far this year, 22.8 million passengers have passed through Canary Islands airports, marking a 4.8% increase compared to the same period in 2024. If no unforeseen events disrupt travel, the airports are expected to close the year exceeding 55 million passengers, with aspirations of reaching 60 million in the coming years.
