SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 3 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Metrotenerife ends its Christmas special service plan with the Three Kings Day. Thus, Line 1 will operate this Wednesday with double-trams every 10 minutes throughout the day and then do so, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., with a frequency of 12 minutes.

The insular counselor for Mobility and president of Metrotenerife, Enrique Arriaga, remarked that, as a result of the sanitary measures decreed by the Government of the Canary Islands for the islands at level 3 as a result of the coronavirus, the night service scheduled for Line 1 on the eve of The Three Wise Men will end at 02.00 hours.

Likewise, he invited citizens to use the tram on their journeys throughout this day, since it circulates through the main commercial areas of Santa Cruz and La Laguna, which favors a more comfortable mobility for the population.

On Wednesday, January 5, from early in the morning until 10:00 p.m., the double-trams of Line 1 will be running every 10 minutes. As for the night service, the frequency will be 12 minutes and will end at 02.00 hours.

The insular director of Mobility, José Alberto León, recalled that, unlike in other years, the Weyler stop will remain operational on the eve of Kings before the cancellation of the traditional Parade. Therefore, Line 1 will be serving the entire route, from the Intercambiador stop in Santa Cruz to the La Trinidad stop in La Laguna. Regarding Line 2, it will have frequencies of 10, 12 and 15 minutes, mainly, and as usual, it will end its service at midnight.

From 08.00 hours the tram service will operate on Three Kings Day with simple units and frequencies corresponding to a festive day, of 12 minutes on Line 1 and 15 on Line 2, during central hours.

Metrotenerife reminds tram users that they can find out about special services on its website, www.metrotenerife.com, and on their social networks, Facebook, Twitter (@tranviatenerife) and Instagram. It also affects that the use of the mask continues to be mandatory in public transport due to the epidemiological situation due to coronavirus.
