The municipality of El Sauzal enters the year 2022 with significant improvements in its road network, which will continue in the first months of this year, thanks to investments financed with the City Council’s own funds. The accesses to Ravelo have improved notably with the opening of the new Corrocho road, the improvement of Corraletes, the start of the reforms of the Camino Real Orotava and the work on Lomo Piedras street, where the Tenerife Council invested 1.2 million euros. In addition, in other areas of the municipality, the Las Breñas pedestrian corridor has been opened and intervention has been made in streets of the old town or of the La Primavera or La Baranda urbanizations.
The mayor of El Sauzal, Mariano Pérez (CC), recalls that A remainder of 1.7 million euros has been allocated to different actions in road matters, as in the streets Cuesta de los Abales, El Pozo or San Cristóbal, and that only in one of the most important sections of the Camino Real Orotava, in Ravelo, works are currently being carried out that «will have a final cost of about 2 million euros. euros more ». These are asphalted, but also urban improvements, with new sections of sidewalks, parking lots, gutter repair, installation of basic service networks or signaling.
Pérez considers that the interventions in Lomo Piedras street, Corraletes and the new Corrocho road represent a great advance for communications in the Ravelo neighborhood, where more than 3,600 residents reside. “We have improved Corraletes, which has been able to become a one-way road thanks to the downward opening of the new Corrocho road, which also incorporates new parking spaces and offers spectacular views. In addition, the Cabildo improved Lomo Piedras street, which is another road widely used by residents in this area of the municipality, ”he details.
The improvement of the Las Breñas road, where there is now a pedestrian promenade that connects with the neighboring municipality of La Matanza, is another important advance for the mayor, “since it allows pedestrians to travel safely and, in addition, connect with the Paseo de la Costa de Acentejo” .
The works on the Camino Real Orotava are now 10% complete, but it is expected that they can be completed in the summer of 2022. “This is a comprehensive improvement, which will force us to move around twenty palm trees. We are talking about 700 meters of an urban road that will gain accessibility, comfort and aesthetics ”, Mariano Pérez advances.
The good financial situation of El Sauzal City Council has allowed the execution of these works With his own funds, but for the mayor of Sauzalero “none of this would have been possible without the great work carried out by the Consistory staff. I have some technicians who do an impressive job and who always help us get all the work done, always looking for solutions to every problem we come across. ”
