Quirónsalud Hospitals to Support Socorro Classic Participants
Healthcare Provision for Bodyboarding Event
Quirónsalud hospitals in Tenerife will be responsible for the health care of participants and visitors at the Socorro Classic, a sporting event taking place from 24 to 28 September on the beach of Los Realejos. The event will showcase prominent national and international bodyboarders.
Dr Juan Carlos Gómez, head of the Traumatology Department at Quirónsalud Costa Adeje, notes that the most common injuries in bodyboarding include bruises and cuts from impacts with the board or the seabed, ankle and knee sprains, as well as muscle pain in the back and shoulders due to forced positions and repetitive paddling. Dr Gómez advises participants to “warm up, use proper techniques, and engage in strengthening exercises to prevent these injuries and avoid exacerbation.”

The ETB 2025 El Socorro is an official event counting towards the European Tour of Bodyboard and the Canary Islands Bodyboard Circuit. It is endorsed and recognised by the European Surfing Federation and the Spanish Surfing Federation.
