Tenerife B Secures Third Victory Without Conceding a Goal

Tenerife B, who remain unbeaten in the league, secured their third victory from three matches following a 2-0 win against Elche Ilicitano. The blanquiazul reserve team controlled possession from the outset, though they struggled to create clear chances in the first half. In the second half, Leandro Cabrera’s team sharpened their attacking play, taking the lead in the 70th minute and extending their advantage in the closing stages despite a stronger performance from the home side.

Leandro Cabrera’s side dominated possession from the start, although they found it challenging to penetrate the local area effectively. Meanwhile, Elche Ilicitano allowed the blanquiazules to play but maintained a solid defensive shape, experiencing little pressure during the initial stages of the match.

The first notable action of the match occurred just after the half-hour mark when Juan Yabrra evaded two defenders and arrived in the area, angled to the left. However, his shot was saved by the local goalkeeper. With no further significant chances, the first half concluded goalless.

Upon returning from the break, Tenerife B intensified their dominance and increased their presence in the attacking zone. Loren, Ybarra, and Ulloa all attempted to find the back of the net in the opening moments of the second half, but none succeeded. Eventually, midway through the second half, Mauro Costa justified his efforts, intercepting a back pass in the area and firing a shot into the bottom corner.

Following the opening goal, the Elche reserves pressed forward, and Piri almost equalised with a header that was cleared off the line by Julen. Despite the local pressure, which forced Aragoneses into several crucial saves, tranquillity returned for Tenerife B, who secured a final 2-0 lead thanks to a penalty awarded to Marcos Marrero in the 84th minute, which he converted himself.
