The team prepares for its third season in the silver category of wheelchair basketball
The squad of Santa Cruz ADEIN Tenerife Fundación CB Canarias commenced pre-season training on Wednesday, 10th September, aiming to be in the best shape for the league start next November. The Tenerife representatives will compete in the 2025/2026 season in the Spanish First Division of wheelchair basketball for the third consecutive time.
The aurinegro team finished the previous championship as runners-up, having their hopes of promotion to the top tier dashed due to a sporting penalty. Although their second-place finish allowed them to have options for playing in the top category this season, they were informed of an improper registration involving player Sebastián Peña in several matches, which ultimately relegated them to fifth place in the final standings.
ADEIN appealed to the Appeals Committee, which upheld the Competition ruling. The matter is currently with the Sports Administrative Tribunal (TAD).
At this point, and as BSR España issued a schedule for the First Division weeks ago that included ADEIN, preparations for the upcoming league in this division have commenced. However, the organisation remains steadfast in its efforts to defend its innocence before the sports courts, convinced of its position being justified.
