The city of San Sebastián, also known as Donostia in Basque, is a place where natural landscapes blend seamlessly with a rich historical heritage and world-renowned culinary offerings.

Donostia is not just a destination; it is an experience that engages all the senses. Each visit offers a new reason to fall in love with the city. Thanks to four weekly flights by Binter, with direct flights from Tenerife North on Mondays and Fridays, those wishing to explore this Basque city can easily do so.

The Old Town, known as Parte Vieja, is the historical heart of the city. Among its narrow, cobbled streets lie some of the most notable buildings, such as the Plaza de la Constitución, the Church of Santa María del Coro, and the Church of San Vicente. Another emblematic location is La Concha Beach. At the end of this beautiful promenade, visitors will find the Peine del Viento, a sculpture by Eduardo Chillida.

Culinary delights form another cornerstone of the city. San Sebastián has established a reputation as a gastronomic hub both nationally and internationally. Pintxos—small, flavour-packed bites that combine high-quality ingredients—are among the city’s standout dishes, alongside txangurro, commonly known as spider crab.

Completing any culinary journey, San Sebastián is also celebrated for its variety of desserts, such as the famous La Viña cheesecake, pantxineta, and the Basque cake.

Fly Direct from the Canaries to San Sebastián

Each visit to Donostia offers another reason to fall in love, and thanks to Binter’s weekly connections, those wishing to discover this Basque city can easily do so. Flights depart from Tenerife North on Mondays and Fridays, while from Gran Canaria, flights take off on Thursdays and Sundays.

Additionally, Binter’s unique ‘Canary Mode’ service provides extra advantages for its customers, including the comfort of their Embraer E195-E2 aircraft—the quietest, cleanest, and most efficient single-aisle jet in its class. The configuration allows for more legroom, and the absence of a middle seat is a further advantage. Passengers also enjoy high-quality onboard service, which includes a complimentary gourmet snack during the journey.
