Weather Warnings in the Canary Islands
The Spanish State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued active warnings this weekend in the Canary Islands due to high temperatures and the presence of suspended dust. The warnings are at a yellow level for both Saturday and Sunday.
Temperature Forecast
Aemet predicts that temperatures will “experience a slight to moderate decrease” on Sunday, alongside expectations that the haze will begin to diminish. Sky conditions are expected to be “mostly clear or sunny for most of the day,” although there may be “a tendency to cloud coverage in the afternoon.”
Expected Maximum Temperatures
Maximum temperatures are forecast to reach 29 degrees Celsius in both Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with minimums around 22 degrees. Winds will be “light to moderate from the north in the early hours, shifting to northeast as the day progresses and increasing in intensity, with strong gusts in some areas,” the agency reports.
