Controversial Property Manager Arrested in Granadilla de Abona
Arrest and Charges
Roberto Cristian Pérez Aguilar, manager of the controversial eviction company Ez Property Solutions, was arrested this week in Granadilla de Abona alongside another individual. Both face allegations of coercion and threats against the Guardia Civil, as well as disobedience for refusing to identify themselves. The second detainee, as confirmed by police sources to Atlántico Hoy, is also accused of assaulting a law enforcement officer.
Local residents in Granadilla had reportedly been complaining for months about Pérez Aguilar and his company’s alleged involvement in conflicts, intimidation, and coercion. The situation escalated when Ez Property Solutions began targeting the Guardia Civil, threatening and coercing their agents.
At the time of their arrest, the suspects were reportedly in possession of recording equipment and were accompanied by their lawyer, who attempted to mediate to prevent the arrest.
Access Controls and Aggressive Behaviour
Pérez Aguilar’s modus operandi allegedly involved establishing access controls at homes believed to be occupied and blocking entry to any resident, whether genuine occupiers or vulnerable individuals behind on rent. When the Guardia Civil responded to reports from various areas of Granadilla regarding the aggressiveness of Pérez Aguilar and his employees, they reportedly faced insults and threats in return, according to sources close to the case.
Release and Ongoing Investigation
Following their arrest in the middle of the week, both Pérez Aguilar and the other individual were released shortly thereafter. According to the same sources, some Guardia Civil officers from the Granadilla de Abona station noted that members of Ez Property Solutions attempted to gather information on the agents and the investigation by contacting civilians connected to them.
Ez Property Solutions has a notorious reputation in Tenerife. In January 2024, during an eviction attempt at unfinished blocks occupied by several families in Granadilla, one employee allegedly punched a housing activist from the Tenants’ Union. Following this incident, Roberto Cristian Pérez Aguilar was filmed outside the union’s headquarters, claiming it needed “a touch of paint.” Not long after, the premises were found to have been burned down, and the union suspects potential involvement by the company, although these claims remain unproven.
