‘Basketball for Teenagers’ Arrives at CEIP Camino de la Villa

The initiative led by the Fundación CB Canarias returns this term to CEIP Cardonal I

This week sees the return of ‘Basketball Among Adolescents’, a programme initiated by the Fundación CB Canarias last year. The activity will continue at CEIP Cardonal I and will debut at CEIP Camino de la Villa.

The sessions will commence at the first centre this Wednesday, with the launch at the second scheduled for Friday, the 19th. Both schools will hold sessions from 17.00 to 18.30 on Wednesdays and Fridays. This activity is aimed at young people aged between 15 and 20 who have a passion for sport and basketball. Those interested in registering should contact the following email: [email protected].

This initiative is sponsored by the Town Hall of La Laguna, through its Department of Social Welfare, and is supported by the Government of the Canary Islands. The Fundación CB Canarias is also receiving assistance from CB Canarias, Fundación DISA, Tenerife Tourism, and Canary Islands Tourism for the execution of this activity.

Santiago Cacho, President of the Fundación CB Canarias, emphasised that “the implementation of ‘Basketball Among Adolescents’ has greatly benefited from the support of both educational institutions and the Social Welfare Department of La Laguna Town Hall, which has recognised the value of such initiatives”.

“Our aim is to make basketball accessible for young people who enjoy the sport but have been hesitant to participate, as well as those who have played before and wish to return, but with a different approach. We also want to create an environment where young people can come together to engage in physical activity and, in the process, get to know each other better,” Cacho added.
