
A man in his fifties has died after being rescued from the sea with signs of drowning at a beach in the Canary Islands. The incident occurred at Corralejo beach in the municipality of La Oliva, Fuerteventura, as reported by 112 Canarias.
Emergency Response
The man was pulled from the water by onlookers who alerted the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (Cecoes) that he required medical assistance, the Government of the Canary Islands detailed on its website.
Beach lifeguards found that the man was in cardiac arrest. They initiated basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) until the arrival of the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) team, who continued with advanced procedures but unfortunately could not revive him and confirmed his death.
Investigation
Police personnel assisted the emergency resources and conducted the necessary reports.
