La Laguna Sells Over 84% of Commerce Promotion Bonds in First Week

The municipal initiative has achieved a redeemed total of over 680,000 euros in participating establishments, and 114 have already reached their limit.

The La Laguna City Council, through its Commerce Department, has provided an overview of the first week of the Local Commerce Promotion Vouchers campaign, launched on 2nd September to stimulate consumer spending and reinforce the local commercial landscape.

In just seven days, 42,228 vouchers have been sold, amounting to 84.46% of the total available. Currently, 7,772 units remain on sale. In terms of value, establishments have redeemed 682,731.32 euros, representing 80.84% of the total sold thus far.

The Councillor for Commerce, Estefanía Díaz, highlighted that these figures reflect “the positive response from the public, who are actively engaging with this campaign, demonstrating their commitment to our local commerce.” She emphasised the importance of “continuing to support the sector, ensuring that businesses receive tangible assistance and that people shop in our local establishments, as behind each purchase lies employment, effort, and life in our neighbourhoods and communities.”

Meanwhile, the President of the Federation of Urban Areas of Canary Islands (FAUCA), Abbas Moujir, noted that “the Commerce Vouchers have proven to be an effective tool, as they inject direct liquidity into businesses, foster customer loyalty, and raise awareness among the public about the importance of sustaining local commerce.”

To date, 305 of the 326 participating establishments have redeemed at least one voucher. Additionally, 114 of them have reached the maximum limit of 3,500 euros (37.68%).

The campaign will remain active until 30th September or until stocks run out, and individuals can purchase up to five vouchers, valued at 20 euros each, paying only 10 euros per unit.

The Commerce Vouchers can be purchased while stocks last, via the following link:

The deadline for redemption is 30th September. The City Council thus reaffirms its commitment to establishing La Laguna as a municipality with dynamic, sustainable neighbourhoods that support its business landscape.
