Tenerife remains vibrant with weekend activities, a commitment from both public and private sectors to keep leisure alive on the island. From film events to music and traditional festivities, there are various options for an exciting weekend. If you were considering staying in, it might be time to check your wardrobe, as you’ll likely want to join one of these activities.

Film

TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes will feature the emotionally stirring comedy The Perfect Recipe this Saturday at 19:00. Directed by Louise Courvoisier, the film presents an intelligent portrayal of familial and emotional ties through its lively characters eager for adventure. Set in the French countryside, this nuanced naturalistic film has received several prestigious awards, including Best First Film and Best Rising Actress at the César Awards, as well as the Youth Prize at the Cannes Festival and both the Meeting Point Award and Audience Award at the Seminci in Valladolid.

Traditions

Tejina is continuing its celebrations for the festival of San Bartolomé this weekend. On Saturday, there will be a treasure hunt, a procession with a fireworks display, and a grand public celebration featuring the Banda Loca orchestra.

Sunday will be one of the most emotional days, featuring the entrance of the Hearts into the square of Tejina, accompanied by their respective groups. There will also be a flower battle and the Festival of Exaltation of the Hearts.

Festivals

The sixth edition of the Taganana Festival will take place this Saturday in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, merging music, performing arts, visual arts, and rural development. The festival will feature Madrid singer Travis Birds as the headline act, starting at 22:00. The musical schedule will kick off at 19:30 with the duo Bucero & Shadday López and their show ‘La Juntada’, alongside Tenerife poet and musician Reina Omega, a two-time winner of the Poetry Slam Tenerife, culminating with DJ Bliss, who will close the event.

In Garachico, this Saturday will feature the Gran Parrandazo. A gathering that will bring together Tutto Durán, Corintio Band, La Orquesta Maracaibo, and La Orquesta Acapulco, among others. Concerts will begin at 12:00 in the Plaza de San Roque. Tickets can be purchased here.

Bavarian Week

Puerto de la Cruz will commence its Bavarian Week this Sunday with a concert at the Costa Martiánez Tourist Complex. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy German folklore and culture.

This enchanting show tells the tale of the adventurous Alice, who enters Wonderland on a summer afternoon, encountering eccentric and fascinating characters. Throughout her journey, she will meet many people and animals, surrounded by magic and music.
