The Council of Garachico has proceeded to close the natural pools of Caletón for bathing due to high levels of the faecal bacteria E. Coli.
This decision was made after the results of routine samples taken on Monday showed values above the permitted levels.
The local authority informs that a second sample has already been collected for further analysis and emphasises that, after conducting the necessary checks in the municipal sanitation system, no discharge of sewage has occurred.
