The Cabildo of Tenerife will allow access to the trails in the north of the island from tomorrow, Saturday, in light of the evolving weather conditions.
On the northern slope of the island, fire prevention measures of level 2 will come into effect from 7:00 AM, while level 3 measures will remain in place in the south.
In municipalities affected by the trade winds, where temperatures are milder and relative humidity has increased, the vegetation has regained the moisture it had lost, thus reducing the risk of wildfires.
Therefore, in Buenavista del Norte, Los Silos, El Tanque, Garachico, Icod de los Vinos, La Guancha, San Juan de la Rambla, Los Realejos, La Orotava, Santa Úrsula, La Victoria de Acentejo, La Matanza de Acentejo, El Sauzal, Tacoronte, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Tegueste, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and El Rosario, access to forest trails will be permitted.
Furthermore, hunting activities without guns and training, as well as travel on island roads and municipal communication routes, will be allowed.
Conversely, the ban on lighting fires outdoors—such as bonfires, stoves, barbecues, gas cookers, and similar items—will remain in effect; as will restrictions on fireworks displays, the use of machinery and tools that produce sparks, forest exploitation, and the use of recreational areas and camping zones.
In municipalities facing south, although the temperature has decreased, the humidity remains very low, necessitating a more restrictive level of prevention.
In the municipalities of Candelaria, Arafo, Güímar, Fasnia, Arico, Granadilla de Abona, San Miguel de Abona, Arona, Vilaflor, Adeje, Guía de Isora, and Santiago del Teide, level 3 measures will continue to be enforced, which add to the previously mentioned prohibitions the ban on access to trails and paths, as well as any hunting activities.
