Members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium rescued two people on Wednesday who were trapped in a house in El Sobradillo where a fire had broken out, having taken refuge on the balcony. After inspecting the property, they also located a dog, which was similarly assisted, as reported by the service on their social media.
Teams from La Laguna and Santa Cruz de Tenerife were activated around 13:55 hours, following a call from the Tenerife Fire Emergency Coordination Centre at 1-1-2.
Upon arriving at the scene, they confirmed that a large amount of smoke was coming from the windows of the first floors and that two people were trapped on the balcony. They proceeded to rescue them using the ladder truck before transferring them to the SUC ambulance.
Subsequently, they conducted a search of the building, during which they located and rescued a dog.
Finally, they began the firefighting operations and the subsequent ventilation of the property.
