The Cabildo of Tenerife will carry out resurfacing work on the TF-1 motorway and the TF-65 road in Los Abrigos. Improvement work on the southern motorway will begin at 22:00 on this Sunday, with completion expected by 06:00 on this Monday.
The work will take place over a stretch of five kilometres between Las Chafiras and Granadilla (km 62+000 to km 57+000) and will involve the closure of the left lane in the direction of Santa Cruz, as the island institution has reported in a press release.
Furthermore, the Tenerife Cabildo has urged users of the road to exercise caution and to follow, at all times, the instructions from the Roads personnel and the signage in the area where the improvement works will take place.
The institution has emphasised the essential nature of this work on the TF-1 as it is one of the main arteries of communication on the island, handling a daily traffic volume of over 70,000 vehicles.
In addition to the resurfacing, the project includes other complementary actions such as the execution of sound-absorbing strips at the edges of the roadway, raising of the crash barriers and central reservation, installation of light reflectors; complete repainting of the horizontal signage, installation of concrete rigid barriers and placement of parapets on bridges.
Meanwhile, the work on the TF-65 will take place this Monday, between 07:00 and 15:00, and will involve an alternate lane closure. Specifically, the resurfacing will be carried out between the kilometre points 2+000 and 3+000 of the Los Abrigos road.
